A case of renovation to hot water floor heating using a geothermal heat pump (HP)! Achieved a surface temperature of 28°C!
We would like to introduce a case study of floor heating installation at a nursery in Kariwa Village, Niigata Prefecture.
Initially, it utilized electric storage floor heating powered by nighttime electricity, but in response to changes in energy policy, it was renovated to a hot water floor heating system using a geothermal heat pump (HP) with a high coefficient of performance (COP).
To maximize the high COP characteristic of the HP heat source, the outlet water temperature was set relatively low at around 45°C. However, to ensure effective heating performance, the installation combined high thermal conductivity radiation panels with copper pipes, which also have high thermal conductivity, achieving a surface temperature of 28°C.
